This is the official homepage of the science fiction author Jack Lance.

I have been a writer for many years and have published many short stories and one comedy play that was well received in three theatre productions. I am now working on a long series of science fiction novels that have been in luke warm development since I can remember. I have also completed the script for a mini series that is being reviewed by the BBC. Feedback so far has been extremely positive.

Trapdoor is, as most of you will know, public domain material almost, and the re-edit can be downloaded here also. 2084 (short story) has been added to the download area too.

The Star Saga series is going to publication as I write this, not that I won't edit the heck out of it in the coming weeks, months... hopefully I'll move on to book 3 and beyond in the near future. Until then, I am very glad people just like you are reading my work, and you can support me by buying a copy of both Star Saga novels when they hit Amazon.

27.06.09 - Second book shaping up nicely. It's all about the darkness, baby. Hopefully people will get what I'm trying to do with it. The first book is very easy for me to follow up, since the entire 'Saga' was the idea in the first place, so the second installment was there from the very beginning.

09.06.09 - Star Saga one going into print now. It will be available on Amazon in a week or so. Also, Waterstones may be interested as well as a few high profile agents. Depending on how successful amazon is at shifting copies, I may not need them after all.

07.06.09 - This is the newz. Postponed the publication of SS1 and 2. Need to edit and rewrite a little. I need to be happy when it finally goes to print.

It's taken over ten years to get it to this stage, or rather its sat on the back burner in my mind for that long. It can wait another week or so, but then I'll have to publish. It's publish or perish as they say.

The Trapdoor peer to peer is insanely popular for something labeled as a 'short story'. It must be word of mouth between literature-ophiles. Something like it anyway.
